This Privacy Policy applies to the FamilyMate application (the “App”), operated by Bingguang Liu (the “Service Provider”).
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal information with care. FamilyMate is designed with a privacy-first, local-first approach: your day-to-day data primarily lives on your device, and cloud features are used only when needed for Apple services you choose to enable (such as iCloud sync, sharing, purchases, or trial continuity).
Local storage
Most of your personal data—including shopping lists, daily menus, financial records, category settings, reminders, and related content—is stored on your device using on-device storage (for example, SwiftData / local databases and app preferences).
iCloud / CloudKit (optional Apple cloud features)
If you are signed in to iCloud and use features that rely on Apple CloudKit (for example syncing data across your devices, or sharing shopping lists, wallets, or trips with family members), related data may be stored in your personal iCloud account under Apple’s infrastructure. We do not operate our own private backend server to store your ledger or family content.
Trial continuity (iCloud Key-Value Storage)
To prevent resetting the free trial after reinstalling or switching devices, the App may store a limited trial-start marker using Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Storage. This is used only for trial continuity, not for advertising or analytics profiling.
Automatically collected information
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs to track your IP address, device advertising identifiers, or usage habits for marketing.
To provide core features, the App may request:
